The following is from Hooey'Pooey Hoopla...one of my closest friends since Day 1. She used to be a member of a small group of newbie players that started the game in Kauri, hunted as a group as much as they can, and got owned by kreetles before we even knew what red conned meant (included in that are people like Demetrius, Silos, Nimbli, Bridgett, Toxicmonkey, Shaahn-Serev, and myself...) She was among the very first Master BH, and was also a member of our guild at one time...but due to her note keeping habits..she has given other Bounty Hunters some important footnotes regarding our profession... so to Hooey'Pooey, leader of the Dancing Stalkers of Kauri (guild), I give my thanks... [glow=red,2,300]Bounty Hunter Mission Walkthrough Part 1 [/glow]
Well, you’ve become a Master Marksman… You’ve sat through several long hours of camping to gain Survival experience to Master Scout. You’ve shot and earned the 40,000 of Combat Experience in order to learn the coveted title of Novice Bounty Hunter. You' have seeked out the Bounty Hunter trainer and earned the title of Novice Bounty Hunter. If you haven't yet then you may find trainers located in Tyrena, Corellia (-5130, -2302), Keren, Naboo (2087, 2573), Mos Eisley, Tatooine (3359, -4840), and Narmle, Rori (-5231, -2241). Looks like you are on your way to becoming a fully-fledged Bounty Hunter!
Before you go out thinking that you are the all mighty Jedi Killer you still have quite a bit of training to undertake before you can track a Jedi. The hours and hours of Investigation (Bounty Hunter) experience still lies ahead of you and your task of becoming a Master Bounty Hunter. Before heading out on your first Bounty Hunting mission you may want to make sure that you are well armed and ready for the task that is ahead. You’ll definitely want to have plenty of weapons at your disposal when you come to a tough mark. Pick up a Scatter Pistol or FWG5, your favorite Carbine of choice, and a Light Lightning Cannon, as you will need to gain Pistol, Carbine and Heavy Weapons experience to become a Master Bounty Hunter. Vehicles are a must! Speederbike Swoops are the staple of the Bounty Hunter, until we get Jet Packs, and will help cut your travel times drastically. Droids are NOT needed at this point because your mission will be on the same planet as you are and will not move locations.
Now that you have your Speederbike warmed up and weapons in hand it’s time embark on your first mission. For our first Novice Bounty Hunter Mission we are headed to Coronet on the planet of Corellia. Set a waypoint for -195, -4470 this will be our base for Bounty Hunter missions for a while. Why did we choose this location? Well, turn around… See the SpyNet Operative next to the trees? He is our new best friend and will be for some time. Open the Bounty Hunter Mission Terminal and hit ALT, this will close the Mission Terminal window and walk over near the SpyNet Operative. Hit ALT again to open the Mission Terminal window again. This way you can get missions and talk to the Informant without moving around and having to open and close windows. Open up your Datapad (CTRL-D) and Planet map (CTRL-V). To get the most out of these missions have your best weapon in your hand, doing so will give you the highest possible payout and experience. Click on the payout column on the mission terminal window and make sure that the highest amount is at the top. This will help you weed out the lower paying missions. Select a mission and make sure you have your Informant targeted. Type in /conv to begin conversing to your informant. He will give you a waypoint to your mark. If you like the location then head out on your mission. If not, abort the mission from your Datapad and select a new mission until you find one that you like. You can get missions within the Coronet city limits if you are lucky, but to save time try to take missions less then -/+ 2000m. You may even get lucky enough to have your mark appear within attack range! Continue doing so until you’ve gained enough experience to move on.
However, it’s highly recommend that you hold off on training Investigation I until you reach the maximum of 10,000 Bounty Hunting Experience until you train. Doing so will make your life much easier and give you less of a headache! There currently are no advantages to learning Investigation I or II. They require more travel time and credits to complete. Until we get some viable skills from the Investigation I or II boxes then just keep taking Novice missions until you get the 10,000 maximum experience. Once you have maxed out on Bounty Hunting experience for Investigation I and II find a fellow Bounty Hunter to train you in those skills. You will have enough experience to learn Investigation I, II and be half way through III before even launching a droid!
Congratulations! You have completed Investigation I and II! By now you should be half way to Investigation III. Now is the fun part and it’s now time to embark on your first “real” Bounty Hunter mission. First, find your local friendly Droid Engineer and stock up on ‘Arakyd Tracker Droids and Seeker Droids. Purchase a few crates of each if possible; see if your new best friend Droid Engineer will give you a discount on them. Now is time to head off to Kaadara, Naboo for this part. Kaadara, Naboo will be our staging area while we complete the Investigation branch to become a Master Bounty Hunter. Again, we choose this location because of convenience. The Bounty Hunter Mission terminals are at 4928, 6726 right in front of the Star Port. SpyNet Operatives for are also located in this city. For our Investigation III box we will be using the SpyNet Op. located behind the Star Port at 5077, 6781. Once you have selected a mission of your liking then head over to the Informant. He will give you the bio-signature of your mark. Hop on your Speederbike and speed out to about 500m outside of town. Use your ‘Arakyd device to call down a ‘Arakyd Probe Droid from Orbit.

[glow=red,2,300]Bounty Hunter Mission Walkthrough Part 2 [/glow]
It takes about 20 seconds for your signal to reach the droid, once done you will then get a countdown until your droid enters the atmosphere. Keep your eyes to the sky and look for your droid returning through the atmosphere in a blazing ball of fire. Use CTRL-M for the overhead map to help locate your droid if you did not see where it landed. It will be the little white arrow on your map. Once you have found your droid click on it and select “Transmit Biological Signature” from the radial menu. This will send your droid out on search of your mark. Evidently droid speeds are currently broken. The higher in droid use you are the longer it takes for your droids to return the location of your mark. So, while that is probing the planets for your mark head back into town and wait near the Travel Terminal for your droid to return the planet in which your mark is on. Purchase a ticket, if needed, and head to the planet where your droid sent back.
Upon arrival at your destination, look at your map and determine if you can get a shuttle into a closer city. If not then launch a Seeker Droid immediately. Seekers take about 3 minutes for Investigation II and 5-6 minutes for Investigation III-IV to search the planet. Basically you can travel 3000m on a Speederbike before your droid returns the location of your mark. Send out another Seeker Droid when you are about 1500m from your updated waypoint. Keep in mind that your marks now move… They may or may not be at the waypoint that your seeker droid returns to you. This doesn’t mean that your mark disappeared or is invisible! I’ve found marks up to 1500m away from the waypoint my droid gave me. Try not to let your mark make it to a city… If your mark makes it to a city they may travel to a different planet and you will not know this unless you send out for another ‘Arakyd Droid. Once you have found your mark, back off and prepare for battle. Marks can be pretty tough at times and may require that you use the bleed n’ flee technique to be successful. Make sure that you park your Speederbike in a safe location out of the sight of your mark. Also, if you have to flee from battle then run in the opposite direction from where you parked your vehicle! If you don’t take these precautions then you mark will head straight to your vehicle and disable it in just a few hits leaving you with what could be a very long run back to civilization.
Once you have completed and have been trained in Investigation III then you will need to seek out the other SpyNet Operative at 5258, 6794. The Informant is located to the right of the Star Port in the corner of one of the buildings. Continue leaving town to call for your Probe Droids, and traveling to far off planets. Endor and Yavin IV seem to be fairly common planets that Investigation III marks like to vacation on. At this point mission terminals will also show Jedi missions. These missions begin with payouts around 150,000cr! Unfortunately, there are known bugs and currently droids can’t track player Jedi. Jedi hunting is the main game for Bounty Hunters and the developers realize this. There are fixes currently in the works for Jedi missions and Player Bounties will be following in the near future (Publish 7). Congratulations! You now know what it takes to become a Master Bounty Hunter!
Bugged Missions: Please remember that the Investigation tree can be very trying at times as there are still several bugs that will keep you from completing your mission. If you come across a bugged mission (white marks, marks in walls, etc.) please submit a detailed bug report by using the in game /bug command. In your report please include your server, the mission terminal that you got the mission from location, the planet and location that your mark was on, the mission name, payout, mark name and of course detail about how your mission is bugged. Doing so will help the developers weed out the bad/bugged missions. It is our job as players of an MMO to point out bugs to help make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
